I've been in Singapore since 2003, we moved as a family, (Husband and two boys) when offered the chance through Mr F's employer.
We hail from the North East of England, and up to that point had never travelled, so it was all a bit of a culture shock.
It hasn't always been easy, but we've had some fabulous adventures. I share a lot of thoughts and photos through facebook, which means family and friends get to see a bit of our lives, but only a bit. Mr F has been nagging for a while for me to start blogging, as a place to record the things about being here that are quite often quite small and simple, but special for many reasons.
So here we are. And the title? When we eat local (hawker) food I love to single out the delicious pieces of ginger, and fish them out with my chopsticks before anyone else gets the chance, simple as that.(We won't mention my penchant for red headed men, best not really.)
I have no idea what form my posts are going to take, but off we go........
